Food really is medicine

After my conversation with Philip Clark in February this year, many people asked me to elaborate on what I term ‘neuro-keto-therapeutics’, in other words, using a ketogenic diet to prevent and reverse cognitive decline including Alzheimer’s. I don’t actually like using the word ‘diet’ to describe ketogenic styles of eating because ketogenesis is not so much a diet as a very powerful strategy for curing many chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, high blood pressure and several psychiatric disorders that were previously deemed incurable. In fact, I was invited to the Alzheimer’s Disease International conference in Krakow, Poland, at the end of April this year, to speak about the damaging effects of sugar on the brain, and how keto-therapeutics can reverse long-standing mental health problems and dementias.

Please share this Health-e-Byte to anyone who is concerned about their brain health and wants to improve it.
