South Australian researchers have great news for those who don’t like the idea of ‘no pain no gain’. It turns out that a better motto is fun not force. The reason for this is that if you’re doing something you hate or find stressful, your body is producing the hormone cortisol which blocks the brain benefits of exercise and even kills brain cells. And if you don’t enjoy something you’ll never stick to it anyway.
