Do you want to participate in exciting brain research?

Monash University researchers have developed an online trial called BetterBrains that is designed to boost your brain and defy dementia. I’m a participant myself and highly recommend the experience.

The aim of BetterBrains is to test whether specific education and personalised behavioural change strategies can prevent decline in mental functioning and memory for people who fulfil the following criteria:

  1. Aged 40-70 years (Oops! Now you know I’m over 40.)
  2. Have a family history of dementia
  3. Have access to a computer or tablet
  4. Live in Australia

If selected to participate, you’ll receive information relevant to your circumstances and you’ll be paired with a friendly trained clinician. The clinician will serve as your health coach and help you identify and work through any barriers to improving your brain. All this comes at no cost to you and involves no travel.

At the start of the study you’ll be asked to complete a series of questionnaires and tests of thinking and memory. It doesn’t matter your score because the goal is to establish a baseline which you will strive to improve over the course of two years.

If you’d like to be part of this trial, you can sign up here.

There is only funding for a limited number of participants so don’t delay in registering your interest.
