Most people have heard the phrase ’sitting is the new smoking’ but what does it actually mean?
Consider the following statistics on causes of death in Australia.
- Shark – the cause of one death between 2018 and February 2020
- Snake bite – on average two deaths per year
- Road accidents – just under 1200 deaths in 2019
- Comfy couch and office chair – around 7000 deaths per year
Yes, SEVEN THOUSAND deaths in one year from illnesses related to prolonged sitting.
How? Why? What can you do about it?
To answer these questions, I’ve written a letter for all employers, managers and team leaders to urge them to invest in stand-up desks for their staff.
I encourage you to download the letter and pass it on to the decision-maker at your workplace.
Even if you work from home, you can still ask that you’re provided with a standing desk option.
Please enter your details to gain access to the letter.
