Stop and stare: Why feeling awe improves your health

What makes you stop in your tracks and takes your breath away?
What makes you pause to soak up the incredible beauty or vastness of it?
What’s a piece of music that washes your stress away?
What’s a work of art that completely absorbs you and transports you to a different place?

This is the experience of awe.

Awe is becoming the subject of promising research to improve both physical and mental health, and I was recently interviewed for an article on the subject by Renee Hilton-Jones for Curtin University’s online journal, Western Independent. I encourage you to read the inspiring article here.

Please share this Health-e-Byte with anyone who hasn’t experienced awe recently.
